Adulterations are happily very little practised. They consist chiefly in the substitution of the artificial flavors and sweeteners for the natural. As soda waters are usually sold at five cents a glass, there can be no excuse for using these cheap substitutes. Even at the highest price of genuine articles of flavors and of sugar and the cost of procuring clean water, the profit on a glass of soda water ought to be satisfactory to the most grasping.
