Whether or not such a synthetic has the same medicinal qualities as a natural water is a question of importance. It is quite likely that the materials which nature puts together in the production of natural compounds have properties which cannot be produced by any artificial means. More than that, in natural products there are extremely minute quantities of constituents which escape detection by ordinary analytical methods, and thus fail to be placed in the imitations. For this reason, it may be said that an imitated water cannot be regarded as having the same value in any case as one of natural origin.
