2 cups graham flour 1/4 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 teaspoons baking powder
1 tablespoon melted butter or oleomargarine
Mix and sift dry ingredients. Add egg, well-beaten, and melted butter last. Bake in hot, greased gem pans 20 minutes. Serves 12 to 16.
Follow the recipe for Graham Gems. Just before putting into pans add 1 cup of dates that have been stoned and cut in pieces.
2 cups bran
1 cup flour 1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon soda 1/2 cup molasses
1 cup sour milk
2 eggs
2 tablespoons butter or other fat
Mix dry ingredients, add molasses and sour milk. Then add well-beaten eggs and the melted fat. Bake in small greased gem pans 35 minutes in a moderate oven. Serves 8.
