No. 690. - This is a tender annual plant, that is seldom cultivated in this country. The fruit is small, oblong, and very hairy, and is eaten either raw or cooked. In Egypt, a refreshing and agreeable beverage is made from the bulbs. Its culture is the same as that of cucumbers or melons.
