2 quarts boiling water

1/4 cup fat 1 cup molasses 1 yeast cake in

1/4 cup tepid water

2 tablespoons salt 1 quart rolled oats

1 pint corn meal

1 1/2 quarts barley flour

1 1/2 quarts bread flour

Mix oats, meal, salt, and fat; add boiling water; cool. Add yeast, molasses, barley flour, and bread flour to knead, using more if necessary. Finish as Rye Bread. Rye flour may be used in place of barley. Makes six loaves.
