2 cups flour, 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/4 to 1/2 cup milk, 1 egg, 1 teaspoonful melted butter, 4 teaspoonfuls baking powder. Mix in the order given. Add 1/4 cup of milk to the egg. and add this mixture to the dry ingredients. Then add as much of the milk as will make the dough just soft enough to handle. Fry in deep fat and when done drain on paper.
