1 cup yellow corn meal,
1 teaspoon molasses,
2 eggs, well beaten,
2 cups sour milk, 1 teaspoon baking soda stirred in milk.
Grease pan on bottom and sides with heaping spoonful of lard. Set pan in oven until lard is melted and hot, then mix with dough. Bake in moderate oven 45 minutes. - Mrs. Harry C. Shane.

2 tablespoons sugar, ½ teaspoon of salt, egg,
½ cup of corn meal,
4 teaspoons baking powder,
1 cup of sweet milk,
1 tablespoon of melted lard.
