Three cups flour in which 3 teaspoons baking powder have been mixed.
½ cup sugar (granulated)
1 egg,
1 cup sweet milk,
1 scant teaspoon salt, 1 cup chopped nuts,
Shape in two loaves and let stand 20 minutes before baking. (Very good.) - Mrs. C. A. Dille.
4 cups flour,
4 teaspoons baking powder,
A pinch of salt,
¾ cup of sugar,
1 cup English walnuts, 1 egg well beaten, 1¼ cups milk.
Bake in a slow oven. If desired, add 1 cup of raisins.

Beat 1 egg very light, add ½ cup sugar and beat, then add ½ tea-spoon of salt, 1 teacup milk, 4 scant cups of flour and 4 scant teaspoons of baking powder, 1 cup of nut meats, raise 20 minutes in pan in which you bake. Bake 1 hour in slow oven. - Mary S. Tolson.
One cup brown sugar, 2 eggs, 1 cup chopped nuts, 4 cups flour, 2 cups sweet milk, 4 teaspoons baking powder, ½ teaspoon salt. Let rise ½ hour. Bake ¾ hour. - Mrs. F. C. Stewart.
