2 yolks of eggs, beaten light. 1 tablespoonful of lemon juice. Grated rind of one orange. 1 tablespoonful of curacoa. Juice of half an orange. Confectioner's sugar as needed.

Wash and wipe the orange before grating the rind. The curacoa heightens the orange flavor; if not at hand maraschino - though not as appropriate in this connection - may be used in its place, or this item may be omitted. The yolkes are used for color, the frosting is softer and keeps in better condition if they be omitted. This frosting is particularly good for the orange cake. Sections of orange from which a membrane is removed may be used to decorate the frosting. Partly cover the sections with frosting.
