1 bunch fresh broccoli (washed and cut into bite sized pieces)
4 TBSP butter
6 TBSP flour
5 cups chicken broth
1/2 cup milk
salt and pepper to your taste
In a saucepan add broccoli pieces and 1 tsp. salt--cover with water. Bring to
a boil, then cook for about 5 minutes--drain and set aside. In a separate
saucepan over medium heat add butter--melt. Add flour--stir with a whisk
until smooth. Add chicken broth--cook until thick. Add broccoli--turn heat
back to low and cook/stir for 10 minutes. Pour the mixture into a blender--
blend on high until smooth. Pour the blended mixture back into the
saucepan--add milk, salt and pepper--stir and cook until hot.
