The typical form of this Australian Leguminous climber has long racemes of bright-red flowers, but the white-flowered form is more valuable commercially. It is useful for cutting and also for bedding out in summer. It likes a compost of peat and loam, and is raised by cuttings of the half-ripened shoots.
