A handsome Chinese deciduous shrub, 10-15 ft. high, with oddly pinnate leaves, that become yellow, bronze, and purple in autumn. The yellow flowers are borne in panicles 2-3 ft. long in summer. Increased by cuttings of half-ripened shoots under glass, and by layering.
