J. H. Haulenbeek & Co., publishers, Phila. The Gardeners' Monthly has an interest in every branch of cultural progress, and necessarily in the success of those magazines devoted to this good cause. Godey's Lady's Book, now in the fifty-fourth year of its existence, deserves much credit for the good it has done and is continuing to do. In its efforts at home adornment and household improvement, trees, flowers, and garden architecture are not forgotten. In its June issue, we find a steel-plate engraving of Helen Mathers, the poetess and author, which makes a very pretty picture, as well as an excellent work of art.
