The oil of the North American Iris versicolor, L. was prepared from the dry root by F.B.Power and A. H.Salway2) with a yield of 0,025 p.c. It is yellow, of a somewhat unpleasant pungent odor: d20/20/o 0,9410; a + 0. Of its constituents furfurol only was identified.
