The wood of Santalum Yasi, Seem.") obtained from the Fiji islands was exhibited at the Colonial Exhibition in South Kensington in 1886. Upon distillation it yielded 61/2 p.c. of a volatile oil, the odor of which was faint and not delicate, hence it could not be used in perfumery1). Specific gravity 0,9768; aD - 25,5°2).
