There are two nervous systems described in the body-the cerebro-spinal and sympathetic. The cerebro-spinal can be divided into central and peripheral parts, the central part consisting of the brain and spinal cord, which send branches to the periphery. The sympathetic system consists of two chains of ganglia which communicate with the peripheral part of the cerebro-spinal system by means of efferent and afferent branches.
