This generally arises from the weakness of the lachrymal gland, for which reason it will be proper to use strengtheners externally, such as Hungary water, fennel and valerian water; the parts round about the eye should be washed with these: likewise a revulsion should be made with blisters and issues. When the nasal duct is obstructed, or when it turns to a lachrymal fistula, the assistance of a surgeon will be wanted; when the lachrymal gland is destroyed, it is incurable.
