Viburnum Opulus, Cramp Bark. Tonic, antispasmodic, and alterative. It is indicated in cramps, spasmodic uterine pain, "bearing-down pain," spasmodic dysmenorrhea, spasm of sphincters, and as an antiabortive agent. (Ec. tr. or f.e., 10 to 30 I..) The larger doses commonly suggested are not one bit more effective. It cooperates nicely with gelsemium and cimicifuga.
