Unguentum Hydrargyri. Mercurial Ointment, U. S. P.
A mixture of 50 per cent, of mercury with prepared chalk, benzoinated lard and 2 per cent, of oleate of mercury.
The mercury is reduced by trituration to such fineness that globules are no longer visible under a lens magnifiying 10 diameters.
