Savory has found it of distinct value, not in acute, but in chronic pyaemia (Lancet, i., 1867, p. 202), and Sir James Paget records the disappearance of a chronic pyaemic abscess under the use of liquor potassae (St. Bartholomew's Hospital Reports, vol. i.).
