Of this disease, Golis recorded a large number of cures under 1/4 to 1/2 gr. doses of calomel twice daily, and mercurial inunctions of the scalp, but his results were not confirmed by other observers. Sir T. Watson refers to two remarkable cases cured by a mixture of metallic mercury 10 gr., fresh squill 5 gr., and manna, taken three times daily for three weeks: it caused weakness, emaciation and diuresis, but not ptyalism. I have not myself seen any good result in this condition from mercury.
