The perchloride and Monsel's solution have been largely used as local applications, especially in military practice. Sal-leron gives a very favorable report of these from experience in the Crimean hospitals and elsewhere (Buisson, "Traite," etc., and Medico-Chir-urgical Review, ii., 1860). A "gangrenous throat" was also treated successfully with perchloride (Medico-Chirurgical Review, i., 1861).
