A few cases of severe neuralgia relieved by oxygen are on record (Birch, J. Hooper: loc. cit.), and it has been praised in spinal palsy, nerve debility, and hysteria, but I think without sufficient reason. What little trial I have made of it in such cases has not given me any good result.

Dr. Ramskill has reported a case of epilepsy apparently relieved by the gas, which he gave by inhalation from peroxide of hydrogen (Medical Times, i., 1863).
