Granular Conjunctivitis

In trachoma, Egyptian opthalmia, etc. 5539.

Scarify with free incisions the conjunctiva of the eye lids. The surface being sponged with warm water to encourage bleeding, a solution of atropine is applied to the part, followed up with a borax lotion in warm water, three times a day. Two days afterwards the eyelids are again everted, and the following applied:

M. The lids being drawn forward, the conjunctival surfaces are then rubbed against each other with the view of disintegrating any of the deposits which may still remain there.
