The capsicum is macerated for a month in alcohol mixed with ammonia water. It is then expressed, the chloral and essence of thyme are added. It should be prepared long before it is used.

In muscular rheumatism, certain neuralgia, hysteria, seasickness and inflammatory affections of mucous membrane. Internally, for hemorrhoids, and to aid the system in bearing up under the influence of excessive solar heat. S. Dose, 10 to 20 drops in half a glass of water. - Dr. V. Paulet.
