Latin, Acetonum (Gen., Acetoni; Abbrev., Aceton.)
Eng., Acetone. A colorless liquid containing not less than 99 per cent. by weight of absolute Acetone.
Said to be anesthetic and hypnotic.
Acetone is extensively used in pharmaceutical manufacturing, but is not often a prescription ingredient.
