Eng., Reduced Iron. Synonyms, Iron by Hydrogen, Black Iron, Que'vennes' Iron. Contains not less than 90 per cent. of metallic Iron.
A grayish-black, granular powder. Odor and Taste.-Odorless and tasteless. Solubility,-Insoluble in water or alcohol.
Oxidizing agents, salts of antimony, bismuth, copper, lead, mercury and silver.
1 grain (0.06 Gm.).
