A proteid compound of silver representing about 8 per cent. of the metal.
A yellow powder, slowly but freely soluble in water.
Said to be an antiseptic and germicide. Uses.-Employed in the treatment of gonorrhea, cystitis, tonsillitis, ulcers, etc.
Usually employed in aqueous solution.
