Latin, Serum Antitetanicum
Eng., Antitetanic Serum. Synonyms, Tetanus Antitoxin, Lockjaw Antitoxin. A fluid having a potency of not less than 100 units per mil, separated from the coagulated blood of the horse, Equus Caballus, or other large domestic animal which has been properly immunized against tetanus toxin.
Hypodermic, 10,000 units; protective, 1500 units.
