Eng., Sparteine Sulphate. The sulphate of an alkaloid obtained from Scoparius (Cytisus Scoparius).

Form

Colorless crystals or powder.

Odor And Taste

Odorless. A slightly saline and somewhat bitter taste.

Solubility

In 1.1 parts of water, or 3 parts of alcohol.

Average Dose

1/6 grain (0.01 Gm.).

Therapeutic Action

Diuretic, circulatory stimulant. .

Uses

Sparteine sulphate is used in the treatment of heart and kidney conditions.
