Latin, Talcum Purificatum (Gen., Talci Purificati)
Eng., Purified Talc. A purified, native, hydrous magnesium silicate sometimes containing a small amount of aluminum silicate.
A white powder.
Odorless and tasteless.
Insoluble in water and alcohol.
It is used as an absorbent and protective and as a diluent for more active agents in the treatment of many moist skin affections, and for cosmetic purposes.
