Latin, Theophyllina

Eng., Theophylline. Synonym, Dimeth-ylxanthine. An organic base isomeric with theobromine. It is found in small amounts in tea-leaves (Thea Sinesis) and is also prepared synthetically.

A white, odorless, bitter, sparingly soluble powder.
