This is prepared by incorporating the extract (alcoholic extract, U. S.) with melted resin plaster. It is used, spread upon coarse linen or leather, in rheumatic pains, neuralgia, dysmenorrhoea, etc. I have known the system to be affected by it; and a case is on record in which even alarming symptoms resulted from the application of this plaster to a surface covered with an eruption, and partially ulcerated.
