Almost every part of plants furnishes food, but more especially seeds, roots, stems, leaves. These may be classified as follows: -
(a) Cereals. - Wheat, oats, maize, etc.
(b) Pulses. - Peas, beans, lentils.
(c) Fruits and Nuts. - Oranges, almonds, walnuts.
Tubers - Potatoes, Jerusalem artichokes, yams. Roots. - Carrots, turnips, radishes.
Green Vegetables.
