Physicians often advise (or themselves personally apply) different forms of electricity for the treatment especially of paralysis; also, for neuralgia, chronic rheumatism, old sprains, suppressed menstruation, lead colic, and many other affections. Powerful currents or shocks are frequently used to revive persons almost dead from drown-ing, suffocation, or narcotic poisoning.
