Flake White And Chemnitz White are carefully prepared forms of white lead, wherein the pigment is of superior whiteness and in a very finely divided state by rewashing and floating, whereby the bulkiest and finest portions are separated. It is used mainly by artists and is of no practical interest to the painter save in rare cases. It sometimes replaces white zinc in whole or part in some white enamels.
