"So little can do so much", is a comment often made especially when disturbed neurons in the cortex of the head have had their pattern of atomic alignment corrected and, as a consequence, dormant reflexes become suddenly activated. Never has the suddenness of the activation been more dramatically illustrated than that of a recent case of advanced emphysema. This is a diseases of the lungs in which large air sacs form and the lungs lose their elasticity.

This particular case involved a young mother in her thirties whom we will call Doris. She had reached an advanced stage of the disease when she enlisted my help. Doris had read the book Vivaxis and a friend had successfully assisted her to cancel chest X-rays and carry out basic polarizing. Although this had made her feel generally better, the reflexes were still inefficient, making it impossible for her to effectively expel air from the lungs. Every breath was a battle as she wheezed and fought to empty her lungs; indeed, I requested she refrain from talking as the combined effort to breathe and talk was unbearably distressing. Prior to working with Doris I made a tape recording of her wheezing as she struggled to expel air - I shudder each time it is played.

Later, Doris described the existence her chain smoking had created for her, as that of a snake pit. Her ability to accomplish household tasks was reduced to a minimum. For example, if she climbed a few stairs, she would be compelled to sit for half an hour to regain her breath. She dare not lie down in bed for fear of choking and never breathing again. What fitful sleep she managed to acquire was done while propped up on her elbows throughout the night. It was not surprising that when first I met her she resembled something designed to scare crows from the strawberry patch - just bones and exhausted nerves.

On the initial specific polarizing I concentrated stimulation to a group of three receptors in the cortex of the skull. They were all associated with the reflexes of the lungs. As she was faced in alignment to her Vivaxis the struggle to breathe reverberated ominously throughout the room. I tapped the first receptor and immediately her lung reflexes were activated to life and her breathing became strangely rhythmic. The sudden transition amazed me almost as much as it did Doris. When the polarizing manoeuvres were completed she excitedly exclaimed, "I feel as though I've been born again! I can breathe once more! " After polarizing was completed she went for a short walk and was delighted to discover she could now climb a moderate grade without losing breath. Doris vowed never to smoke again; a vow she has conscientiously observed. That night she phoned several friends. They noticed immediately the improvement in her ability to speak - no more wheezing and struggling for each breath. It was incredible to them that her chronic condition could be corrected so simply, so suddenly. Such evidence left no room for skepticism and they were eager to learn more.

Doris coughed up a lot of the accumulation in her lungs during the succeeding days. The second time we met I found one of the three receptors originally treated had to be repolarized; in addition I discovered a few others with disturbed patterns that had to be polarized. Her improvement was steady, gathering momentum with each week. I also advised her to polarize every four days, turning four ways in her channel and breathing deeply, stretching and depressing the lungs to their utmost. The need for polarizing became less frequent and the time interval was extended to once a week. Now, four months later, she has outgrown the need to polarize for emphysema.

I would like my readers to see Doris now! Lovely complexion, relaxed and gaining in weight, she breathes as quietly as a child while she expounds enthusiastically of the law of magnetism that has given her a second chance. Gone is her fatalistic attitude that emphysema cannot be cured. No longer does she feel that renouncing tobacco serves only to further torture the body and prolong death.

We hope the story of Doris will help the thousands who currently suffer from this agonizing disease. In her case the cure was the reinstatement of the atomic pattern in the receptor cells associated with the reflexes of the lungs and the removal of the main cause by substituting fresh for polluted air.
