Orazio Gemileschi, an Italian painter, whose family name was Lomi, born in Pisa in 1503, died in London, or according to some authorities in Rome, about 1646. At the invitation of Charles I. he took up his residence at the court of England, and decorated the palace at Greenwich and other buildings. Vandyke included him in his portraits of 100 illustrious men.
