A small herb, of a strong spicy odor, much used for flavoring. This, with the spearmint and the pennyroyal, is used in medicine for its stimulant and carminative properties. Others of the mint family are the horse-mint, the brook-mint and the corn-mint, the latter smelling like decayed cheese.
