[AS. twi, double; and light.] The dim, faint light before sunrise or after sunset. It is produced when the sun is 180 below the horizon by the reflection of the sun's light from the higher regions of the atmosphere. In the tropics the duration of twilight is shorter than in more northern latitudes.
