In some states the chastity of the female is presumed and the burden is on the accused to impeach it;120 but in other states the courts hold that this presumption of chastity is overcome by the presumption of the innocence of the accused, and the burden is on the prosecution to prove the averment of chastity.121
But slight evidence of the chastity of the female is all that is required.122
