Men are more liable to be assailed by inflammation of the bronchial tubes than women. This is probably due, to a great extent, to their greater exposure, in outdoor life, to the causes which induce bronchitis.

Asthma. The male sex is much more predisposed to this trouble-some affection than the female. According to the experience of some physicians of the widest practice in this disease, about eighty per cent. of all the patients are of the masculine gender.
