A mere license to enter upon land and do a particular act or series of acts - as in the case of a license to enter upon land and remove property sold to the licensee - is not an interest in land, within the statute. It is otherwise, however, where the right conferred is to enter upon lands and erect and maintain a dam thereon. This is more than a mere license; it is an easement. It is the transfer of an interest in the land.75 A right of way is an interest in land.76
