Strain thin calico on a frame, then care-fully paste on the engraving so as to be free from creases; afterwards, when dry, give two coats of thin size (a piece the size of a small nut in a small cupful of hot water will be strong enough), finally, when dry, varnish with white hard varnish. Renewing Manuscripts. - Take a hair pencil and wash the part-that has been effaced with a solution of prussiate of potash in water, and the writing will again appear if the paper has not been destroyed.
