Wire, To Ascertain Amount Required For Cable

For the length of a wire in a strand, add to a given length as many times the circumference of the strand as there are twists in the given length, for the outside wires; and proportionately for the inner row. The centre wire is supposed to be straight. Proceed in the same way for the strands. The excess of wire in each strand added to the excess of the strands over the length of the cable will give the whole length of wire used.
