Color, yellow. Petals, larger than the sepals. Most of the stems ascend, but some lie upon the ground and produce runners. Leaves, 3-divided, the divisions irregularly cut, the leaflets stalked or sessile. Achenes beaked. 1 to 3 feet high. May to August.
Wet meadows and low grounds.
