Two pounds flour.
One pint milk, more or less.
Half pound butter.
Rub the butter in the flour, make a hole, add the milk with the salt in it and mix. When mixed beat it out into a medium thin sheet, fold it over and again beat it out into a medium thin sheet, repeat this until the dough is smooth and fine, then roll it to the thinness you wish your biscuits to be cut with small round cutter, dock with docker, or stick with fork if you have no docker, put in pan and bake in heat that will bake them thorough, giving them a nice light brown color, keep in a dry place, as this biscuit to be good must be very dry.
Another way is to cut into little squares, roll round, then mash flat and dock, bake same as directed above.
