Many varieties of whisky are known, due either to the materials used in their composition, variations and methods of manufacture, or the country in which they are made. It is very remarkable that minute changes in the manufacture of a distilled spirit, due to the kind of material employed, the method of fermentation, the shape of the still which is used, and the method of manipulation will change profoundly the character of the product.
