The province of Venetia is of some importance in Italian viticulture. The most extensive vineyards are near Verona. The principal wine merchants are found here. Both red and white table wines are produced. The alcoholic content varies from 7 to 14 percent. The most alcoholic are those of Valpolicella and Prosecco.
