Fried Apples For Breakfast

An appetizing dish for breakfast is fried apples and bacon. Cut the apples into eighths and core, but do not pare. Put them into a frying pan with a little water, just enough to cover, and let them boil until nearly tender. In the meantime fry the bacon and remove it from the frying pan and lay around the edge of a platter. Pour out some of the bacon grease, leaving enough in the pan to fry the apples, which are turned into the bacon pan and fried to a delicate brown. When done pile them in the center of the platter, letting the bacon form a border. - Contributed.
